Five Themes of "Pathography"

There are five themes to geography which are, location, place, human environment interaction, movement, and region. I intend to use these five themes throughout the next 12 weeks to aid me in my search and mapping of diseases around the world. By looking at ones location, place, and movement, I may be able to find disease trends and origins. With both human environment interaction and region, I may be able to finds reasons for why some diseases are more prone to some places than others.

Pathography is not a real word?!?

The word "pathography" was created by using the prefix word patho, meaning "suffering or disease" (medterms.com) and the suffix word graphy, meaning "writing or representation produced in a specified  manner or by a specified process." (answers.com) This blog will be use to briefly touch base on diseases that are native to particular regions around the world. With both the prefix and the suffix given, I was able to create my very own, unique definition. World Pathography- is the study and mapping of disease processes in various countries around the world.

Disclaimer: This word was created only for this blog, the actual term is "Medical Geography" or "Health Geography"
